Goodness gracious. The Clow Cards never cease to surprise me with what they want. It’s been a while since I included a journal entry about my Clow Sorcery journey on here. How fitting is it that I am eagerly awaiting the first signs of spring and I am writing about The Earthy card?

As per usual, I began this quest with the 4-card questing spread by another member of the Clow Sorcery Discord Server.

This Card is Definitely about Sex (The state I begin this quest in)
In this context, this card is about over-thinking. In terms of psychology, I would say this is a card about transference—or rather, allowing your emotional state and your past to color your judgement, thoughts, behaviors, and feelings in the present. And that basically means you are letting your mental schemas get in the way of seeing something very obvious that you could easily learn by just asking someone local or familiar with the item in question. It basically seems like I am letting something else cloud my judgement on an otherwise simple situation.
The Beefcake [reversed] (The factor that needs to change)
Starting with the obvious imagery, The Beefcake is powerful. He is enlightened and has a lot of muscle in addition to a dick print. He is radiating outwards. In a reverse, he is actually like…balanced on top of this triangle. It looks like he’s in the middle of exercise or some bizarre meditation.
Thief (The state I end the quest in)
This is the first time I have seen this card. We have a wasp flying off with a heart wrapped in some sort of…cocoon maybe? The wasp has taken its prize and is just fucking off. Full audacity.
Lord of the Hunt (How to capture The Earthy)
This is a card I have only seen upright before. Upside down it looks like it’s just coming from the sky, and I am reminded of like…something just falling out of the sky. There is no need to aim because it’s just going to plop right into your lap. So no need to go hunting at all, it will show up and it will be obvious.
I did have to do a clarification on this reading, since there were a few ways I could have read this. Instead of some of the more complicated readings, it turned out this was more about just taking time and resting.
Resting has been a constant theme in the readings all through my life. And it was something I never learned to do for the first 30 or so years of my life. Without going too far in depth or going down a rabbit trail—I never had good examples. This time, for real this time, I actually specifically made time to do absolutely nothing. And I didn’t bother actually thinking about anything or worrying about organizing stuff while I was ‘technically sitting/resting’ as I normally did. And I think that was the actual point of success—making time to do Absolutely Nothing.
It is shocking how much power doing nothing actually has. So here is the question of the hour: how good are you at resting? And how could you be better at it?
