Sometimes it feels odd to ask: but you have to. Have you ever gotten beaten up by a spirit before? Because The Snow was not playing around with me. She beat me up and stole my lunch money. This was the spirit thus far that had the strongest and most established personality of all, and she had demands. 

In addition, I Fucked Up and forgot to seal her at the end of her very in-depth quest—which resulted in The Snow ‘freezing’ my liquid assets in a very, very inconvenient way. This quest took place all through April of 2024, and it was by requirement a month-long quest. I would describe this particular version of The Snow as very similar to Olivier Armstrong from Full Metal Alchemist. She flat out said I was a weakling and she needed to beat me into shape if we were ever going to have a working relationship. 

Card 1: Old Man Pouring Water on an Eyeball (The state I begin this quest in)

Card 2: Holy Shit, Stop Asking Inverted (The factor that needs to change)

Card 3: The Former Child Star Inverted (The state I end the quest in)

Card 4: The Floppy Key (How to capture The Snow.)

So the way I would read Holy Shit, Stop Asking if it was upright would literally be a ‘holy shit stop asking’ as in a ‘it doesn’t matter, because you’re mindset is the issue’ or a ‘stop overthinking this or complicating it.’But if I look at it Inverted…it almost feels like a ‘you need to be looking into this more–but not for the reason that you would get a straight answer.

If I look at the contrast between Card 1 and 3, we have a solemn old man pouring water on an eyeball. And it feels like some ritualistic nonsense from the beginning. But, you can also look at is as like ‘this eyeball is not where it needs to be. Eyeballs belong in a place that is conducive to eyeballs, where they can get tears normally, and this dude is just bandaging a weird situation that just should not be.’

In comparison, if I were to look at the Former Child Star upright, then it looks like that image is ready to Burn Down Fucking Everything. They have a gas can and a match–and they are not in a good place. There is this gaping hole where their face–or their identity SHOULD be. So if I consider the inversion…it would probably be growing your face back, or growing a new face. No longer being the naked monster, but perhaps we have a moment where we put on a glamorous dressing gown, become EVIL GORGEOUS, and call people ‘Dahling.’

So if you add those three together, then you have a transformation that doesn’t have an easy answer that can be divined–because it’s too big. It’s about a complex transformation wherein I’m not supposed to be this sad old man trying to bandaid a dumb situation–and instead become something more than the destruction my darker urges would want me to indulge in.

But, it’s also not remaining ‘damaged’ or fixated on mending damage. It’s growing a whole new face. Also I initially wanted to say ‘the answer is erectile disfunction’ but instead it might be something I would perceive as useless and not fit for its job.

What this ended up being (as determined through multiple clarification divinations) was a month-long marathon of Astral/Spirit World work. And while I originally was quite dubious about ‘astral work’ via meditation and imagination…honestly the results were shocking. But, that is a story for another time.
